Science education for kids and toddlers
Young

Watchers
Do you have a budding young scientist with curiosity to spare? Young Star Watchers is an astronomy science exploration programme held in two parts: the first for pre-school-aged kids 2-6, and the second for primary aged children 6-plus.
Run for over 15 years by science enthusiast and early childhood lecturer Camilla Gordon, this program focuses on the physics of our world and universe through activities children can engage with and in a language they understand.
The group meets once each moon in the Institute of Early Childhood building at Macquarie University. The session for the pre-schoolers runs from 6-7pm, and for the older children and those who wish to stay from 7pm onwards.
"Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science."
- Edwin Powell Hubble
On attending the Young Star Watchers programme for the first time each child will be provided with an exercise book to record their activities each month.
The Young Star Watchers programme is non-profit and held free of charge but a small donation is welcomed at the beginning of each lesson to help cover operational costs.
